We are all about helping people know Jesus in every stage of their lives, as well as making Him known to those who have not yet come to Him. No matter your age or where you are on your spiritual walk, we offer several ministries that will connect you to others in our congregation and our community. Through these ministries, small groups, and volunteer opportunities, you will be able to grow in Christ and have fun doing it. We love serving the Lord, and it shows!
The Children’s Ministries at First Jenks are one of the best in the area. We have a dedicated staff and volunteers who lead the children in gaining a firm foundation for their faith and encouraging their spiritual growth. The church understands the importance of investing in the future, and supports our children in many different ways. We invite your children to participate in Children’s Church, Sunday School, Hand Chimes, Jr. Hand Bells, and various worship services throughout the year.
The youth (7th-12th grade) meet upstairs on Sunday mornings from 10:30-11:30 am. Led by our youth pastor Philip Crawford, we go through different series such as Surrendering Yourself to God, Tough Stuff, and What Sharing Your Faith Looks Like. We also look at what is going on in the world at the time, and discuss what the Bible tells us we should do about it.
The United Methodist Women are an active force at Jenks First through participating in many mission projects in our community and around the world. Their purpose is: to know God; to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. There are two groups that make up our UMW: Mary’s Hope Circle and Joy Circle. Mary’s Hope Circle meets the second Thursday of the month at 9:30 am. Joy Circle meets one Sunday a month at 7 pm.
Loops of Love
People who love to knit or crochet gather on Thursdays at 1pm for fellowship and fun.
Jenks First participates in various mission projects throughout the year. The youth program does a summer mission project with the Oklahoma Volunteers in Missions, and are always on the lookout for local projects in our community. The church supports numerous mission projects such as an annual trip to Cookson Hills Ministry Center, partnering with the Jenks Community Food bank, Project Transformation, or simply seeing a need and rising to the call.
At First Jenks we have many music ministry opportunities for all ages. The children are invited to participate in hand chimes and Junior Hand Bells. Adults can participate in our extremely talented choir and hand bell choir, which practices on Wednesday nights. Throughout the year individuals are given the opportunity to sing special music during worship. Please contact our music minister Rachel Hall if you are interested in joining us!
